Java Developer

MBR Partners Limited
MBR Partners Limited
Fareham, Hampshire, UK
25000 to 50000

My client is a company that works with some of the biggest players in broadcast / video media plus many of the worlds leading Telecommunications companies - players such as the BBC, ITV, Facebook, Amazon and Netflix. The company has relocated from London to Fareham in Hampshire and is looking to grow it's development team. They are looking for Java Developers (they develop in what they call minimalistic Java) and are right at the cutting edge of analytics / database technologies being first in their area to adopt AWS, NoSQL (Mongo, then Cassandra), Hadoop, Storm, Spark (and whatever comes next) when they help them to solve difficult problems. Occasionally they also build prototypes in other languages and work hard to make sure their build, test, monitoring and hosting systems are easy to use. The systems my client runs process huge volumes of data about broadcast and live events (TV, radio, music, social, etc.) in realtime or near. They run sophisticated analytics to help end-users find content, and help their clients understand how their content is used. Performance is really important: they want their user interfaces to be fast and responsive, and they process too much data to afford the costs of badly engineered systems. The client always will be smaller than other teams with comparable ambitions but this means everyone can have their say, work on things that matter to them, and see the results go live to millions. Joining my client means real engineering challenges, hard but satisfying work, plenty of opportunity to learn about and use new technology. My client is looking for both inexperienced and experienced Java developers - the key is talent to them and the ability to be able to learn new technologies quickly.
